Lalchand Soni, who hailed from a small town of Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh, later made Aurangabad his home. His connection with the city dates back to year 1944, when he rented a shop at Sarafa Bazaar and started his journey as an Artisan of Jadau, and later bought the same shop. His encouragement helped his family take over the responsibility of the business over time.

Lalchand Soni has been a part of the Sarafa Jewellers Association right from Artisan to the Chairman. He also stood and fought against the Inspector Raj of Gold Control Act which benefitted the whole Association in the year 1971. He has given back more than he got to the upliftment of the societies at Aurangabad as well as Burhanpur. Gujarati Samaj of Aurangabad had felicitated him with Gujarati Samaj Bhushan Award for his contribution. In his tenure, he helped many small artisans and Jewellery Business owners to set-up their businesses and make them independent.
